Language and Communication
Question: Can you distinguish between the use of “hello” and “hi” in different social contexts?
Paragraph:

In English, “hello” and “hi” are two salutations that we frequently use in our daily lives. However, they are used in different situations. “Hello” is considered more formal, it is appropriate to use when you are communicating with someone who is in a position of authority, like your teacher or your boss. It is also suitable to use when you are speaking to someone who you do not know very well. Conversely, “hi” is much more informal and casual, making it perfect for conversations with close friends, family members, or peers. Therefore, understanding when to use “hello” or “hi” appropriately can greatly enhance your ability to communicate effectively in English.
